I just spent a few hours reviewing the impact of the new fee schedule on eBay. Bottom line, to sell HO trains, I paying right at 40 percent in fees. This is with an anchor store, that gives mostly free posting fees. It is time to move. Look for more of my listings here and on ebid.com.
The number of items to buy is larger on the bay, but I find the number of actual buyers has gone down. Today, a guy bought an Athearn boxcar for a low offer. Then he paid via PayPal, then he wanted his money back, because he says he doesn’t have the money in the account. More and more typical buyer for trains on the bay.
