I know that is a mouthful of a title. It indicates the amount of activity that I am currently working or thinking about. Let me summarize:
1.) We have been here in the Villages for 2 years. During that time, I have only worked on client engines. I am out of the buy broken, trains, fix & sell on e-bay business. Because of that, I am in the process of selling off most of my stash of parts that I brought in the move in case I decided to restart that activity. This sale is on ebay under the ggnlars seller name. This activity started on the 9th o October & will continue for the next month or so. Generally I started with the lower end items & am working towards the higher end. I our interested, check out what is up on line.
2) To my pleasure, I have three more engines to upgrade from an of site client. These will be up graded to Rail Pro modules with sound, much like the Atlas Kato engine in September. I will be posting the progress as appropriate.
3) Because of curiosity, I have purchased a Rapido CN RS-18 that is DC ready. This model has been noted to have problems. Some say it is the motor. It appears to die within 2-3 hours. This unit was sold for less than MSRP by the seller, I suspect by a concerned seller on ebay. I am going to run this engine through its paces to see if the problem occurs. If it does, Rapido is sending out new motors by request. I will pursue that solution if needed. The engine will be upgraded to Rail Pro with sound and sold after the activity.
4.) I have been thinking on an improved draw bar measurement method. In addition, this method lends itself to examining the impact of pulling capacity on grade variations. More details as the become available.
