The as received was initiated today. The standard DC testing was completed. The G&TL testing was completed at 2.5% & 4% gradeS and most of the 6.99% grade. The rest of this first run will be finished soon.
initial impressions:
1 the engine has very little torque wobble, based on velocity measurements.
2 the current draw appeared to be consistent with other recently released engines.
3 at 12 volts, the motor noise was louder than expected.
4 The draw bar force and the actual number of cars pulled were lower than expected. at 4% it pulled 11 cars, less than 2X cars per drive axle.
5. When it stops because grade or load, it made a distinct wheel slipping noise.
