the latest test complete is an SP F7A with a Mashima 1824 motor. The wheels on this engine are the 42 in NWSL stainless Steel type. The results are the second best measured to date. Actually better than the BN U30B with the same type wheels. The only engine that is better at this point is the Penn PA-1 which 6 drive axles. As shown in the wheel material & diameter study, the wheels have a huge impact. Larger than the favorite solution, weight.
The drive axle impact needs to be clarified. The Penn PA-1 result is substantially better than the best four axle. Is that because of the increased number of axles or because of the outside frame design.
That will be the near term focus.
